Thanks for your response Andrew, I agree that it’s disturbing to kill animals in the manner and quantity that we currently do and that it’s unnecessary to eat meat on a daily basis, which I cover in the following part of this story. Humans have always been able to exist without meat, however, my view is one of nuance, because there are significant health and environmental benefits brought with the production and consumption of animal products on a small scale. Hence, whilst I disagree with the dominant race to the bottom in meat/dairy production, I equally don’t feel it’s personally justifiable to go vegan or full vegetarian. The last meat that I bought was from this very pig, which was 7 weeks ago.

A healthy diet is a balanced, varied one, absolutism of any kind often proves to be damaging in the long run.
